Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 June 2026
Memoraisle (“we”, “us”) lets couples create a private portal where wedding guests upload photos and videos. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have over your data. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Account data — for couples who register: your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Wedding content — photos and videos uploaded by you and your guests, plus an optional display name a guest may enter.
- Usage records — to keep the service secure and understand how it is used, we log events (uploads, logins, downloads, payments) together with an IP address, browser user-agent, and coarse device type.
- Payment data — one-time payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; we keep a payment reference and amount.
Guests don’t need an account
Guests upload without signing up. A randomly generated identifier is stored in the guest’s own browser so they can label their uploads. It is not linked to any account and is not shared with other guests.
Who processes your data for us
We use the following providers, each acting as a data processor for us under a data processing agreement, and only to run the service:
- Amazon Web Services (S3) — stores photos and videos, in the EU (eu-west-1, Ireland).
- Neon — hosts our PostgreSQL database (account data, wedding metadata, usage logs) in the EU.
- Stripe — processes one-time payments. We never see or store your full card details.
- Resend — delivers transactional email (password resets, payment receipts, expiry reminders).
- Vercel — hosts and serves the application.
- Google (Google Analytics) — measures how this marketing site is used (see Cookies below). This may involve transferring usage data to Google outside the EU.
How long we keep it
Wedding albums and their media are automatically deleted twelve months after the wedding date, whether or not they have been unlocked with a payment. We email the account owner a reminder before an album is deleted, so it is never lost without warning. Deletion is permanent — once an album is removed from storage it cannot be recovered, so download and keep your own copies of irreplaceable files.
You can delete a portal, or your entire account, at any time from your dashboard — this removes the database records and the stored files. When you delete your account we remove your personal identifiers from our usage records but may keep anonymized, aggregate statistics that can no longer be tied to you.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. You can delete your account yourself under Account settings, or contact us at privacy@memoraisle.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Cookies & analytics
The Memoraisle app uses essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. This marketing site additionally uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data — pages viewed, clicks, approximate location, and device and browser information — and may transfer that data to Google. We do not use this data for advertising.
